Love solving a mystery?

I've loved all Ms Confer’s stories but Mitch is one of my favorite characters. I've been waiting patiently to discover more about him, knowing I wouldn't be disappointed by the big straight arrow Sheriff. He’s better than expected and so is this plot.

"Love this story

This is my first read from this author, and I really enjoyed it. There are several earlier books set in the Saddle Creek series, but I didn't feel lost; it was easy to follow the story and characters. Janelle and Carter have a very strong attraction to each other, and there's a lot of steam. A misunderstanding and an argument derail their hopes for a future together. Or not..."

"I love the series. Elyse 's best friend is disappears and she goes to Dalton for help to find her friend. As they start the search weird things happen like a stuffed animal full of drugs in the trunk of Dalton's car and the police not acting as they should. Elyse fights her attraction to him but as they spend more time together and get to know each other they come together. Will Dalton keep her safe? Will they find her friend in time? A must read."

A Saddle Creek Christmas Romance

***** 5 of 5 stars

“The book description was a little confusing, along with the title. Since it's called A Saddle Creek Christmas Romance, you would expect it to be about a single couple. But actually this is a collection of three longer short stories that are romances about three different couples. (There is no table of contents, so it is hard to get around in the book.) They all interrelate as they take place in the same small town in Wyoming, and the men involved are good friends who typically spend the holidays together. The book pulled me right into the small-town charm that pervades this book; I love it when a holiday romance does that. I liked the author’s dedication in the book, to her mother who has recently passed; she states her mother was the first to buy and review her books, and I found that very sweet. She said as well that she learned about the true meaning of Christmas from her mother. And that is really what this book is about as these couples find out more about themselves, each other, and the true meaning of Christmas. It is a heartwarming read, and because it is three relatively short separate stories, each can be enjoyed in less than an hour. If you enjoy heartfelt small-town Christmas romance, you will most likely enjoy this book.”

“A Saddle Creek Christmas Romance includes three interrelated short stories. The characters are all likable and relatable. The stories take place in a small town in Wyoming. These stories involve men, childhood friends who normally spend the holidays together, and the women who have their hearts. This is heartwarming holiday romance at its best. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.”

I liked this story by Ms Confer. The characterization of the MCs was very good. Edie could have used a lighter hand, I felt. She came off as a petulant and angry teen instead of a contemporary of Chase. As for the plot, I liked the romance going on at the ranch. As I read about Chase's history, I was glad it's not "just the woman" that was running. He ran years ago. (Another story??) I would recommend this book for romance readers, and lovers of good-lookin' cowboys!

SUSPENSE AND ROMANCE WERE GIVEN A JUSTICE

Nov 14, 2016

An Uptown Girl and a Cowboy is written in a complete package. The setting just felt right, as well as the pacing, the twists, the characters and the ending. I loved the reality that was contained in this book. People leave their family, friends, work and home to follow the road to their passion. Unlike the first book in the series, Lorelei Confer showed some girl power through Samantha in the book. Another good thing about this book was Confer's style of vividly describing the sceneries. She never failed to project the ambiance that she wanted to instill to her readers. My verdict: suspense and romance were given a justice in this book. So glad this is the last book I reviewed out of the three in this series. Will defenitely pick up Confer again.

Oh I am so glad I got approved to read this book! It just looked so gosh darn adorable as far as the description and cover goes, I had to request it! Now I'm happy to say that it follows through with the book's interior, as well!

At times, this is a sweet romance story about Samantha, a new to the southern country city girl with aspirations of becoming a wildlife photographer, and Elliott, a strong, handsome cowboy.

At other times, this sweet story takes a dark, heavy, suspenseful turn or two.

This isn't just a romance, it's a thriller!

Elliott lost who he thought was the only woman he could ever love, but when Samantha comes into the picture, he starts to feel something he hasn't felt in a long time. She's a warm little dork when it comes to nature and truly a dove when it comes to her fragility.
He wants to protect her from the dangers she's soon to face and this creates a terrifying bond of intimacy between them.

This is a lovely suspenseful romance and it deserves all five stars!

Reading Alley Review of Secrets and Deceptions

***** Perfect Ending To The Perfect Build

Oct 26, 2016

This story is the real deal when it comes to the saying "page turner"! Secrets and deceptions is an excellent source of thrill and suspense! Lovers Avri and Dillon reunite after fours years of separation. Their love for one another is quickly rekindled, (Kind of like a slap in the face, really. The reunion, itself, was suspenseful and brought on several questions that would later be answered.) but at what cost? What's real? What's a lie? Do they even know each other, anymore? Both have secrets they're keeping from one another, but neither can hold onto them for long. Eventually, the truth is gonna come out. I thought the concept and play out of this story was very realistic. People have secrets and as time goes on, those secrets/happenings change people. I'm glad a writer explored the affects lies can have on a relationship, romantic or otherwise. It creates uncertainties, as well as misunderstandings. It's clear Avri and Dillon still love each other deeply, so of course readers want these two darlings to open up and just spill the guts (oops. Spoiler?) already, but the suspense was well played!! I honestly think this is the fastest I've ever read a novel of this length! The pacing of this story teeters back and forth from nice, steady, slow builds to fast, adrenaline pumping scenes and developments. There's really a lot going on here what with the past/present plots (and fantasies/night terrors) of two characters on their own as well as together, but it's nicely explored. I never felt lost in the text.

This author does an excellent job of keeping the reader's attention on the book in hand! Because, really, ya gotta know if they're gonna make it! Read and/or get reviews at- http://www.goodbookswithtea.blogspot.com

In her day to day life, Lorelei Confer can be seen living with her husband, dog and a Chihuahua. Her true passion lies in writing. From a very young age, Confer fell in love with writing and as a result of that love, she has penned down several mesmerizing stories that sound lyrical and often tell us about hopes and love.

Secrets and Deceptions (Saddle Creek Book 3) tells us the story of two lovers with a long past and a complicated relationship. It began when Avri Lawrence was a teenager and met Dillon Davidson for the first time. Several years pass by and they discover they are each other’s soul mates. The happiness though doesn’t last long as Avri has her heartbroken when her long time boyfriend and high school sweetheart leaves her to enlist in the army.

What used to seem so simple and straightforward in the past didn’t remain the same when Dillon returned 4 years later. This time around, they are both changed and different people. Avri is hiding secrets of her own and she is beginning to lose faith in Dillon. Dillon, on the other hand, is haunted by his career choice and perplexity of his decisions. He wants to be in the military but he doesn’t want to kill people. Hence, he finally makes the decision to end the deceptive job of special ops that had him chained and tortured for 18 long months. All he wants now is to spend time with Avri. However, things are a lot easier said than done as this time, they have secrets and deceptions brewing between them and it threatens their relationship.

Lorelei has a deeply affecting writing style that reels the readers in from the very first line. She writes touching and sometimes, tear-jerking tales of love and hope. Secrets and Deceptions (Saddle Creek Book 3) is everything you will expect it to be and more.

RUSTLERS AND ROMANCE
Saddle Creek Series Book 1
LORELEI CONFER, AUTHOR
Rating: 4 cups

Lauren McCray has been running from her boyfriend who just feels that she is his punching bag. She knows if he catches her that this time she may end up dead.

Chase Montgomery is headed back home to the ranch when he stops of at Rosie's Diner and sees a beautiful waitress who is bruised and swollen and he would love to just make the hurt go away, as well as teach the man who gave her those bruises a lesson.

When Lauren sees her ex going through her car she runs for her life right into the nearest pickup, and hides hoping this will get her far away. Both Lauren and Chase are stunned and surprised as to where she ended up. But can Chase keep her safe, and does her appearance have anything to do with the missing horses on his ranch?

Wow what a fast moving story. Sometimes the heart knows what it wants faster than the mind does. Both Chase and Lauren seem to find that out very early on. Great story with a twist and turn or two that keeps you guessing and wanting to turn the page. I cannot wait to see whose story is next in this new series.

Review: Rustlers and Romance by Lorelei Confer

July 5, 2014 emilyh Reviews,

Lauren McCray knew if she didn’t get away from her ex she would end up dying at his hands. When she flees to the small town of Saddle Creek, Wyoming she hopes she has finally gotten away from him. She didn’t expect to find help from cowboy Chase Montgomery.

Chase knows Lauren has been abused and for the first time he can remember, he feels something for the stranger before him. When it looks like Lauren is about to bolt, Chase offers her a place to stay at his ranch. Chase isn’t a relationship type of a guy but everything about Lauren screams to him that she would be worth breaking his own rules.

Fantastic read. Lauren begins the story as skittish but strong and when she meets Chase she questions her own feelings. Chase however sends some mixed messages and Lauren is worried if she stays she will fall hard for the man who seems close but distant. If your looking for a fun cowboy read, this is one to pick up.

Review of Deadly Revenge Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Deb!

Deb’s Review:
This is my first taste of Lorelei Confer’s work and all I can say is that I want more. Deadly Revenge was a well-written, on the edge of your seat suspense with a strong dose of white hot passion.
Tory the heroine of this book sure knows how to attract trouble. I truly felt sorry for her. It seemed as though every turn she made beckoned trouble. Even after years away from the home where she grew up, the mome she returns, she finds herself drawing the worse possible attention.
Sexy Detective Dave also returns to his home town to stop a human trafficking ring, but what he stumbles across shocks him to his core.Ms. Confer did you plan on writing so many facets of Dave? I found myself trying to pinpoint whether I liked it or not.
The only bit in the story that threw me for a loop was the initial hook-up between Tory and Dave because of their constant mantra of “We can’t” over and over. I was like “For real People”. *g* However, when they finally get to the hot passion that’s been simmering to a heated boil, trust me, it’s well worth the wait.
The secondary character’s helped build the story without taking the shine off the true purpose of the book. Ms. Confer added some twists in the plot that had me shocked and intrigued. It is easy to root, for Tory and Dave in the end, that is if they make it out alive.
If you enjoy a good dose of Romantic Suspense, give Deadly Revenge by Lorelei Confer a try. Trust me when I tell you that you will want more. I know I do.

4 NYPMHS:

"Deadly Revenge starts off with action and never stops. This story is quite fascinating and kept me in suspense, as I wondered what would happen next. From the first incident until the last, I never guessed who the villain was and imagine my surprise when all the characters fell in to place! Tory seemed to be a little short-sighted in the beginning about the accident and other events happening to her, but she finally reacted in a way that proved normal of any person. Her strength came from deep within after being betrayed by her ex-fiance's cheating, which left her with a determination to not depend on others. Dave is my knight in shinning armor, who got a little lost at one point and that's because he reacted without asking the right questions. These two characters truly unfolded in a positive way so that you couldn't help but like them. Ms. Confer did a great job of writing a suspenseful tale of how human trafficking can affect people's lives. Through her characters, they portrayed a very realistic story, along with how the plot unfolded for me. I look forward to reading more from this author." -- Goddess Minx, Literary Nymphs Reviews
